Such A Surreal Experience...

First of all, there are no words to express how grateful we are to everyone who contributed to Kevin's Recovery Fund in these last couple of weeks. The benefit this weekend was such a surreal experience. To know that there are so many people standing behind Kevin to support him making a full recovery is an awesome feeling! Kevin's Krew is one heck of a group and we appreciate every single one of you. Whether you sweat it out all day Saturday, showed up for a few minutes, called with loving words, or sent in a donation; it took every one of you to make that event such a success. Much love to you all, with heartfelt thanks.

Kevin had an appointment with his oncologist today. His cholesterol was a little high (side effect from the medication), his blood count were low even though he has taken his iron twice a day every day...so we have to keep an eye on that. His spleen is enlarged again so we will be getting an ultrasound on that, in the meantime he is to be careful and make sure he doesn't get hit in the tummy. We are scheduled for his next infusion of zoledronic acid next month.

Dr Lee's office also called to schedule a follow up with the Genetic and Clinical Studies in Skeletal Dysplasias team. So we will go there on July 8th. We also had a call with the coordinator of the undiagnosed disease network so that they get consent to start their research on Kevin's DNA. Science is truly amazing!
